Tooth extractions are a last resort treatment when we have explored all potentially viable options.

We may also perform a tooth extraction to address overcrowding in your mouth.

Treatment Guide:
(NB: treatment plan may vary for more complex cases)

Treatment time: 15 to 30 minutes.

Anaesthetic: Yes.

Recovery time: mild discomfort for up to a week (dependent on treatment).

Post-treatment care: over-the-counter painkillers to control mild discomfort.

When wisdom teeth are impacted.

Is Tooth Extraction Completely Safe?

Our award-winning dentists’ knowledge of gum and tooth anatomy is exemplary. You will be in the safe hands of dentists who use personalised planning using technology which identifies the intricate network of sinuses and soft tissues in your mouth. With this knowledge, we can perform the most streamlined and precise treatment to remove the problem teeth, without minimal complications.

Do I Need to Replace the Gap Left Behind?

Wisdom teeth do not need to be replaced, nor to teeth that have caused overcrowding. However, we recommend a dental bridge, dentures or (best of all), a dental implant for replacing missing teeth. This won’t just benefit you from an aesthetic standpoint: oral health problems like shifting teeth and gum irritation won’t occur. Dental implants are the most effective treatment for ensuring the teeth, gums and jawbone co-exist healthily in the future.

Do You Help Nervous Patients?

Yes – we have a patient-centric care mentality at Meliora Dental. We are experienced at working with nervous patients who might need some reassurance before their treatment. We can take you through the treatment procedure step-by-step, so you know exactly what to expect. If you feel your dental anxiety is too overwhelming, we can also offer intravenous sedation to induce feelings of relaxation, and a ‘high’ during the extraction. This is a pioneering technique for temporarily removing feelings of worry and anxiety in patients and has been used in clinical settings for a number of decades.

Came here for a dental implant after losing a tooth in a car accident 10 years prior. The process involved using Invisalign as my teeth had moved and the gap where the implant was to be inserted had become too narrow. Also, due to the amount of time that had passed, there was not enough bone to place the implant, and I needed to have bone grafts. The first bone graft was unsuccessful, but thankfully the second one was a success, enabling me to go ahead with the implant. Though this added time to the expected treatment timeframe, Kunal explained every part of the process with me in detail, and gave care advice at each stage. He cared about how my smile would look, my appointments never felt rushed, and time and care was taken to ensure the implant would function and look like a natural tooth. Would definitely recommend.

Had my appointment today with the dental hygienist Ellie and she did a phenomenal job! She took a good 45 mins to clean my teeth and removed all the stains and plaque build up. Ellie also took the time to explain how to properly brush your teeth especially the difficult to reach areas. Best teeth clean I’ve ever got!
